How do I export my novel to EPUB and DOCX?

Open Export from the command palette or the File section of the app menu, pick a format — DOCX, EPUB, FB2, PDF, or Markdown — review what's included and where the file goes, and click Export. DOCX, EPUB, and FB2 are the core formats: the ones every export path is built and tested around. PDF and Markdown work too, on a best-effort basis, without the same fidelity guarantees.

Each format serves a different next step: DOCX for an editor or proofreader working in Word, EPUB for e-book stores and e-readers, and FB2 for the Russian platforms — ЛитРес, Litnet, Author.Today — that expect it and that Western tools generally don't produce. Your EPUB export is oriented toward what Amazon KDP checks for, though no writing tool can guarantee a platform's acceptance.

Does export keep my formatting and structure intact?

Yes — structure maps to real styles, not imitation formatting. Headings become genuine Word paragraph styles in DOCX or proper structural markup in EPUB and FB2, never manually bolded or centered text, so the file stays clean and editable on whatever comes next. A part, when you use one, becomes the top-level division; chapters sit under it; scenes with no chapter of their own become chapter-level divisions — whatever structure you actually have maps sensibly, with nothing forced.

Two scenes sharing a chapter come out separated by a visible break (*** by default). If your manuscript carries Russian typography — «ёлочки», em-dash dialogue, non-breaking spaces — export reproduces it exactly, because it's already correct in your prose; export adds no second typography pass and never re-formats your words.

Export is also read-only: it never touches your manuscript, and anything sitting in Trash is left out of every file automatically.

Can I export only my finished scenes, for beta readers?

Yes. The export dialog lets you choose which scene statuses go into the file — export only your finished work, for instance, and leave drafts out. It shows exactly what's included and excluded, with counts, so nothing drops silently; by default the whole book exports.

That's a different job from sending readers a link they open in a browser — beta-reader sharing handles that without producing a file at all. Reach for export when you specifically need a DOCX, EPUB, or FB2 in hand: for an editor, a formatting pass, or a reader who wants a file rather than a link.

What does export cost?

Every export feature that works within one book is free, across any number of books and projects — with no gate on the format itself. That covers core DOCX, EPUB, and FB2 export, front and back matter (title page, dedication, epigraph, copyright page, author note), and the metadata fields Russian platforms auto-fill from; turn them on with toggles in the export dialog and they render automatically from your book's metadata.

Richer professional formatting — full typographic themes, drop caps, custom scene-break ornaments, chapter styles, and print-ready PDF layout — is still ahead, and it's staying free at the book level when it arrives too.
